Text message alerts

Back by Dark sends text messages for one reason only: a hunter is overdue or has asked for help. There is no marketing, ever. The texts come from +1 (866) 844-3275.
Who gets a text
Only the person a hunter names as their emergency contact in the Back by Dark app. The hunter enters that person's name and mobile number themselves, and chooses — every time they start a hunt — whether that person is told if they are late. The checkbox can be left unticked; the hunt starts either way.
When a text is sent
- An hour past the back-by time — if the hunter has not tapped “I’m back” or answered our “Are you OK?” check. The text names the hunter, the time they were due, and a map link to where they were last seen.
- When the hunter taps “I need help” — at once.
- When the hunter is back — an all-clear, so nobody keeps worrying.
That is all. A hunter who comes back on time causes no text at all. Message frequency depends on how often someone is late — for most contacts, never.
Example
Back by Dark: Pat Hunter is overdue (due 6:41 PM). Last seen: maps.google.com/?q=34.72000,-85.31000 Call them; no answer, call 911. Reply STOP to end.
