Back by Dark is software for hunting clubs, provided by Ramola. Using it means agreeing to what is on this page.
What Back by Dark is, and is not
Back by Dark helps a club coordinate: who booked which stand, who is currently on the property, and who has not come back yet.
It is not a safety device and it is not a substitute for one. It depends on a phone with a charged battery and, for anything to reach your club, a signal — and hunting happens in exactly the places where neither is reliable. Do not rely on it to summon help. Tell somebody where you are going and when you expect to be back, the way you would without it.
The overdue escalation raises a flag for your club to see. Whether anyone is looking, and what they do about it, is up to your club.
Hunting law is yours to follow
Seasons, weapons, tags, limits and licences are your responsibility and your club’s. Back by Dark may record what a club has configured; it does not know your state’s regulations and does not check them. Nothing in the app is legal advice or permission to take an animal.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@ramola.ai if you think someone else has got into it.
Your club’s data
Stands, boundaries, sightings and reports belong to the club that created them. Club owners and managers can remove members and close stands. If you delete your account, what happens to your data is described on the privacy page.
Maps
Basemaps come from the U.S. Geological Survey and from Esri. Aerial imagery may be several years old and a boundary drawn in Back by Dark is a sketch, not a survey. Do not use it to settle a property line.
Availability
We try to keep Back by Dark running and we will not promise that it always is. Parts of the app work offline by design; parts do not.
Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like, from the Account screen. We may suspend an account that is being used to harass people or break the law.
